Twin Equipments


Today Twin remains one of the leaders in the sale, distribution, installation, manufacturing, and repair of equipment dedicated to the light, medium and heavy truck industry. The company now offers equipment grouped under 10 families: Snow removal | Dump bodies | Asphalt Boxes and flat decks | Towing and recovery | Aerial devices and service bodies | Trailers | Tailgates | Articulated cranes and hooklift | Winches | Other equipment and accessories (parts-painting-coating).

Twin employs more than 100 people working in three branches, MONTREAL | QUEBEC | LAVAL and benifits from a network of more than 45 sub-distributors located mainly in Quebec but also elsewhere in  Canada and northeastern U.S.A


1953 Foundation of Twin Equipment and Supply Ltd., the company originally manufactured truck boxes;

1969 UAP acquires the company and modifies the vocation by engaging in the sale, installation and repair of truck equipment;

1980 The company is purchased by a group of employees and then was born Les Équipements Twin (1980) Ltée;

1981 Twin opens a branch in Ottawa which will be sold to employees in 1986;

1988 Another branch is open in Quebec and is later  sold to employees in 1997;

1980 to 2001 The company specialized in the field of snow removal, towing  and tailgates products;

2001 The Beaulieu/Derrico families  buy the company;

2001 to 2015  The company will proceed to 4 phases of expansion that will see its building area increase from 19,000sf to over 30,000sf and also rent a second lot of 62 000sf to store customer trucks and equipment . Many new distribution agreements are signed in order to diversify the company's product offering: Trailers | Aerial devices | Articulated cranes | Service bodies | Compressors | Generators etc...;

2005 Twin is certified by Transport Canada, and is granted a  trademark certificate of national safety mark NSM, now mandatory in Canada; this certification ensures that all companies that perform installations and modifications to trucks meet the  standards of security of the Canadian vehicles Bureau (CMVSS)

2006 The Canadian welding bureau (CWB) certifies Twin welders;

2009 Twin gets a pool account from Ford Canada, allowing it to be able to work more closely with Ford truck dealerships while allowing its customers to have access to additional discounts. Twin also has an agreement with GM but does not keep vehicles in inventory;

2010 Twin becomes the first company in America certified by Mercedez for the installation of aerial devices on their Sprinter trucks ,Twin also proceeds to the purchase of two of its four shareholders;

2012 March: Twin shareholders acquire the Laval truck bodies manufacturer, Michel Gohier Ltée (MG) which also holds an ISO  9001 - 2008 certification;

           July: They also acquire one of its sub-distributors in Quebec City, Distribution Raynald Bertrand Inc.,later named Les Equipements Twin (Québec) Inc.;

2013 A third acquisition is completed,  the truck body manufacturer and repairshop  of Fourgons PME Ltée of  St-Léonard;

2015 February: Twin launches its new logo and its new colors, a significant change that is intended to be a modern reflection of it's image today;

          April: The Group proceds to the merger of its four operating companies, Les Équipement Twin (1980) Ltd, Les  Équipements Twin (Québec) Inc.,  Michel Gohier Ltée and Fourgons PME Inc. into a new company: ÉQUIPEMENTS TWIN INC. The  MG (Michel Gohier) brand will be kept and  used  for the sale of certain products;  

           May: St-Léonard workshop operations (formerly PME) are moved in the workshop of Laval (formerly MG).
